Kate Rijs is a Melbourne based Artist/Illustrator. As an eternal daydreamer Kate has often been asked where she goes when her mind slips away. Through her artwork we are invited to take a peak into her world that is somewhat reminiscent of putting on one of those pairs of sunglasses where the colours seem brighter and the world just seems to jump out at you as a more inviting place to be. Since completing a Diploma of Illustration Kate has exhibited her light hearted, nature inspired works at Chapel off Chapel gallery in Prahan, Oak hill gallery in Mornington and is a regular fixture at the Blackbird Market in Fitzroy..
